Kidney function declines silently; creatinine depends on muscle mass (misleads on creatine), cystatin C doesn't.

Yearly after 50 or with hypertension or diabetes.
What moves it
Blood pressure and glucose control, avoiding NSAIDs, hydration; SGLT2 inhibitors are kidney-protective.
