Taurine deficiency as a driver of ageing

Who, how long

Mice, monkeys; human cohort correlation (n≈12,000)

What they found

Taurine supplementation in middle-aged mice extended life 10–12% with better health markers; monkeys showed improved bone density and glucose.
Caveat

No human RCT. A 2025 Science paper found taurine does NOT consistently decline with age in humans, so it isn't a good ageing biomarker.
