What it is
Menaquinone; activates osteocalcin and matrix Gla protein (MGP), the body's natural inhibitor of vascular calcification.
What the evidence shows
In the Rotterdam cohort, high K2 intake meant 50% less coronary mortality. A 3-year RCT (180 µg MK-7) slowed arterial stiffening and bone loss in postmenopausal women. No hard-endpoint RCT yet.
